4、Ⅰ.Introduction1.1BckgroundEnglishisbecomingtheworld'slanguageofthe21stCentury.WithChina’sreformandopeningup,therapiddevelopmentofChina’seconomyandtheinternationalexchangesandcooperation,moreandmorecommunicationacrossnationsisgrowingandbecomingnecessary.

5、However,learningaforeignlanguageisquiteacomplexprocess.Languagelearnersnotonlyneedtolearnitspronunciation,vocabularyandgrammar,butalsoitsabundantculture.Therearemanyfactorsinfluencinglanguagelearners’successorfailureinEFLlearning,suchaslanguagelearners’

6、intelligence,aptitude,personality,motivation,attitudes,preferences,beliefs,ageofacquisition,sex,learningsituation,culturalbackground,learningstrategies,teachers,etc.Ofallthesefactors,ifaskedtoidentifythemostpowerfulinfluenceonlearning,almostallthelingui
