2、ore,studyingCollegeEnglishtestisextremelyimportant.Thispaperisanempiricalstudy,layingemphasisonstudyingtheCollegeEnglishfinaltestonvalidity,reliability,difficultyanddiscrimination.Thesamplesofthisstudyareselectedthethirdtermandfourthterm’sfinaltestpaperso
3、faclassofnon-EnglishmajorstudentsfromHezhouUniversity.Andthengettingsomebasicinformationfromtheirtestpapers,suchasitemvalidity,itemreliability,difficultyindicesanddiscriminationindicesetc.byusingSPSS17.0andExcel.What’smore,thepaperusesdocumentationmethod,
4、statisticalmethodandcomparativemethodtocollectandanalyzedata,whichmeetstheneedofthestudy.Thispapermainlystudiesthefollowingaspectsindetail:contentvalidity,predictivevalidity,reliability,eachitem’sdifficultyanddiscrimination.Fromtheresultsofthisstudy,itiso
5、bviousthatfirstly,themeanoftotalscoresis76.191,47%studentsgetscoresrangingfrom80to90,andonlytwostudentscan’tpassexam.Thatindicatesmostofthestudentscannotonlypassexambutalsodowellinthetest.Secondly,tosomeextent,thevalidityoftestisreasonableandacceptable.Bu
6、titalsohastoimprove:addingupthepartofspeakinginthetestandmakethetestdifficultyequaltoCET4orCET6.Thirdly,thereliabilityoftestisnotenough,needingtoreducetheinfluenceofsubjectivefactorsandobjectivefactors.Itshouldaddupmoreitems,adjustthedifficultyofthetest,a
7、ndputforwardsomefairandefficientmethodstomark.Fourthly,onthewhole,thedifficultyofthetestisnotverylarge.Inthetestpaper,only2.4%itemsaredifficult,and58%itemsareveryeasy,needingtoadjust.Finally,lotsofitems’discriminationindicesrangefrom0.2to0.29,needingtomod
