3、lInformationClassroomMeetingtime:Writtenon:I.CourseDescriptionEconometricsisintendedforanundergraduatecourseineconometricsforsocialscientists.Thiscoursecontainsfoursections.Thefirstsectionofthecourseisontheintroductionoftheclassicalregressionmodel.Herewelookcloselyathowtoestimatethecet
4、erisparibusrelationshipbetweendependentandindependentvariables.Basicassumptionsintheclassicalmodelsandclassicalregressionestimationmethods,suchasmomentmethod,OLS,andthe“partialing-out”approach,areintroduced.Wewillfocusonhowtointerpret,testandevaluateanempiricalmodelandconductinferenceb
5、asedontheestimation.SectionIIcontainssomesituationswhichviolatebasicassumptionsintheclassicalmodel,suchasheteroskedasticity,autocorrelation,andendogeneityofregressors.Correspondingly,WLSandIVareintroducedinordertoachieveconsistentandmoreefficientcoefficientestimators.SectionIIIwillintr
6、oducesomeissueswhicharerelatedtomodelspecification.SectionIVwillconcentrateontimeseriesregressioninwhichtherandom-sampleassumptionisviolatedintheclassicalmodel.Wehopethattheexamplesdiscussedcanhelpstudentsunderstandthebasicprinciplesofeconometrics.Ofcourse,wewillintroducesomebasicopera
