3、sibilityisbackedbytheLinguisticInterdependenceHypothesis(orthereadinguniversalhypothesis),anceintheL2islargelysharedetime(Clarke,1979;Alderson,1984;Carrell,1991;BernhardtKamil,1995;Taillefer,1996;PichetteSegalopleevidencetobackupeitheroftheabovementionedtetime.Althoughtherelationshipamongn
4、ativelanguagereadingability,secondlanguageproficiencyandsecondlanguagereadingabilityhasarousedmanylinguists'interest,ithasjustbeguninChina.Presently,anyachievements,therearestillsomedisadvantagesamongthem.Foronething,theoperationaldefinitionofsecondlanguageproficiencylevelinmoststudiesisno
5、tgeneralandaccurate.Someinvestigatorsmeasuredthetestees’secondlanguageproficiencyaccordingtotheirgradesorlevelsofcoursestheyp;Bistodeau,1993;Raymond,1993;BernhardtKamil,1995;Schoonen,HulstijnBossers,1998).Furthermore,someresearcherstooktheirknomarastheirsecondlanguageproficiency(NationCoad
