3、ketothankTobaFriedman,ourdirectorofoperationsatHealtheKids,whoisreturningtonighttothealmamaterwheresheservedasaMarshallscholar,aswellasMarilynPiels,anothercentralmemberofourHealtheKidsteam.Iamhumbledtobelecturinginaplacethathaspreviouslybeenfilledbysuchnotable
4、figuresasMotherTheresa,AlbertEinstein,RonaldReagan,RobertKennedyandMalcolmX.I'veevenheardthatKermittheFroghasmadeanappearancehere,andI'vealwaysfeltakinshipwithKermit'smessagethatit'snoteasybeinggreen.I'msurehedidn'tfinditanyeasierbeingupherethanIdo!AsIlookedar
5、oundOxfordtoday,Icouldn'thelpbutbeawareofthemajestyandgrandeurofthisgreatinstitution,nottomentionthebrillianceofthegreatandgiftedmindsthathaveroamedthesestreetsforcenturies.ThewallsofOxfordhavenotonlyhousedthegreatestphilosophicalandscientificgeniuses-theyhave
6、alsousheredforthsomeofthemostcherishedcreatorsofchildren'sliterature,fromJ.R.R.TolkientoCSLewis.TodayIwasallowedtohobbleintothedininghallinChristChurchtoseeLewisCarroll'sAliceinWonderlandimmortalisedinthestainedglasswindows.AndevenoneofmyownfellowAmericans,the
7、belovedDrSeussgracedthesehallsandthenwentontoleavehismarkontheimaginationsofmillionsofchildrenthroughouttheworld.IsupposeIshouldstartbylistingmyqualificationstospeakbeforeyouthisevening.Friends,Idonotclaimtohavetheacademicexpertiseofotherspeakerswhohaveaddress
