3、lthOrganization(WHO)hasformallydeclaredapandemicinthegrowingoutbreakofH1N1influenza.WHOtolditsmembernationsJune11thatitisraisingitspandemicwarninglevelfromphase5to6.Thisisthehighestalertlevel.Thedeclarationmeansthatanewfluvirusisspreadingquicklyaroundtheworld.ItIsOfficial–June11,2009CallingH1N1a
4、pandemicdoesnotmeanthatWHOthinksitissevere.Mostcaseshavebeenmild.AsofJune10,WHOsaidthediseasewasinatleast74countries.Theyhadreported27,737casesofswineflu.Theseincluded141deaths.60millionto120millionpeopleintheU.S.willbesickenedbythevirusandhospitalemergencyroomsoverwhelmed.Thereportestimatesthat
5、asmanyas1.8millionintheU.S.willbehospitalized,andupto300,000victimswilllandinintensivecareunits."Importantly,theseveryillpatientscouldoccupy50%to100%ofallICUbedsinaffectedregionsofthecountryatthepeakoftheepidemicTheywarnedsuchanantidotewillnotbeavailableuntilmid-Octoberwhenthepandemicisexpectedt
