2、ct:ThispaperillustratesthepossibilityofusinganEnterpriseArchitectureasaninstrumentforrequirementsanalysisandevaluationindigitallibrarydevelopment.Thecollaborativedigitallibraryhasbeenconceivedtosupportsecondaryschoolstudentsinformationneedsinconductingschool-based
3、projects.Theresearchersexaminetheneedsofdigitallibrarystakeholdersandhowacollaborativedigitallibrarymightbedesignedtomeettheseneeds.ZachmanFrameworkforEnterpriseArchitecturewasusedastheapproachtoinvestigatetheuserrequirementsanddefinethedigitallibraryorganisation,
4、resources,processes,technologyandinformationflows.InapplyingZachmanFrameworkandtoholisticallycontrolthestudy,thecasestudyapproachandmultipledatacollectiontechniqueswereadopted.Informationobtainedfromthesedatagatheringtechniqueshelpstopopulatetherequirementsoftheto
5、pthreelayers(18cells)inZachmanFrameworktoascertainthedesigndetailsofthedigitallibrary’sscope,businessandsystemmodel.Theframeworkabstractsthecharacteristicsandfeaturesofthedigitallibrarybasedonsixdimensons,Motivation,Data,People,Process,PlaceandTime,andexplainsthei
6、rstructuresandprocessesfromtheperspectivesoftheplanner,owneranddesignerofthedigitallibrary.ThispaperprovidesthedetailedmappingbetweenthefirstthreelayersoftheZachmancellsandthedimensionsutilizedinformulatingtherequirementsanddesignofthecollaborativedigitallibrary.I
7、tconsistsofthevariouselementsthatadigitallibraryshouldprovideforasdelineatedinseveralframeworksbeingconceptualizedanddescribedindigitallibraryresearchsince1995forthedesign,development,andevaluationofdigitallibraries.Insteadoflistingtheelementsasrequirements,theres
