3、iontypestoimprovelearning.Inproject-basedlearning(PBL)studentsexhibitinformationliteracy(IL)skills:theyformulateauthentic,meaningfulquestions;plantasks;gatherresourcesandinformation;evaluateinformation;collaboratewithothers;andreportfindings.Thispaperexaminestheaffordancesthatacollaborat
4、ivedigitallibrary(CDL)canbringtobearonsupportingILpracticesinthedigitalinformationenvironment(DIGIE).TheCDLsupportssolitaryinformationseeking,interactionamongusersaswellasworkingwithinformation.Thecollaborativeenvironmentprovidestheplatformforthestudentstoparticipateine-publishingofrepor
5、tsanddigitalresourcesthatcanbesharedbyothers.Italsoallowsstudentstoorganizetheirprojectreportsinvariouspresentationstyles,citethereferencestheyuseintheappropriateformataswellassubmitthereportandotherresourcesinvariousformats,inordertocreatematerialsforpublicationinthedigitallibrary.TheCD
