3、enefitfromtheuseofvariouspresentationtypestoimprovelearning.Inproject-basedlearning(PBL)studentsexhibitinformationliteracy(IL)skills:theyformulateauthentic,meaningfulquestions;plantasks;gatherresourcesandinformation;evaluateinformation;collaboratewithothers;andreportfind
4、ings.Thispaperexaminestheaffordancesthatacollaborativedigitallibrary(CDL)canbringtobearonsupportingILpracticesinthedigitalinformationenvironment(DIGIE).TheCDLsupportssolitaryinformationseeking,interactionamongusersaswellasworkingwithinformation.Thecollaborativeenvironmen
5、tprovidestheplatformforthestudentstoparticipateine-publishingofreportsanddigitalresourcesthatcanbesharedbyothers.Italsoallowsstudentstoorganizetheirprojectreportsinvariouspresentationstyles,citethereferencestheyuseintheappropriateformataswellassubmitthereportandotherreso
6、urcesinvariousformats,inordertocreatematerialsforpublicationinthedigitallibrary.TheCDLplacesmuchoftheresponsibilityformanagingthedigitallibraryworkflowintothehandsofstudents,teachersandteacherlibrarians.Studentresponsibilitiesincludetheapplicationofmetadata,aswellasconve
