5、-placedinthelowestquantumstateofthecon®ningtraptemtoachievehigherprecisionanddiscovernewphysi-potentials,andcoherentsuperpositionsoftranslationalcalphenomena.Thestrikingadvancesalongtheselinesstateshavebeencreated,oftenentangledwiththeinter-havebeenrecognize
6、dbyawardsofNobelPrizesto21nalquantumstates.Theseprovidenoveltestbedsforindividualsinthisarea;mostrecently,the1997Nobelquantummechanicsandmanipulationofquantuminfor-prizewasgivenforlasercoolingandtrappingofneutralmation.atoms(Phys.Today,1997).Inthe®rsthalfoft
