4、,especiallydeep-colourdyeing,usingamodifiedjetdyeingmachineoperatingwithouttheuseofnitrogengastopurgeoxygen.Beforedesigningthemechanicalsystemfordeep-colourdyeingwithvatdyes,whichhasnotbeenpracticedcommerciallyuntilnow,preliminaryinformationondyediffusionincellulosicsubstrateswasobtained
5、usingthecellophanefilmrollmethod,bywhichdyeuptakeatthesurfaceandthediffusionbehaviourofthedyewithintherollweremeasuredquantitatively.Aswithotherdyeingprocesses,itisdesirableinvatdyeingthatthetemperaturebeashighaspossibleinordertoreducedyeingandprocessingtime.However,increasingthetemperat
6、uretendstoresultinunevennessinthedyedfabric,resultinginvariousdefectsintheproduct.Thedyeingconditions,includingtheconcentrationsofreducingagent,sodiumhydroxide,andtheweightratioofuseddyetofabric,wereexaminedbytestdyeinginanErlenmeyerflaskunderanitrogenatmosphere.Thepossibilitiesoflowerin
7、gtheliquorratio,thedyeingtemperature,andthedurationofeachprocesswerealsoexaminedintheflaskexperiment.Thecoretechnologyforsuccessfulbatchdyeingonaproductionscaleconsistsincompletelyreducingthedyetoleucoformformoleculardispersioninthedyeingliquor,preventingairpenetrationfro
