6、sandnormallypresentwhollyorlargelyastheβpolymorph.itreactsslowlywithwater,thuscontributinglittletothestrengthduringthefirst28days,butsubstantiallytothefurtherincreaseinstrengththatoccursatlaterages.Byoneyear,thestrengthobtainableformpurealitandpurebelite
7、areaboutthesameundercomparableconditions.Thealuminatesphaseconstitutes5%--10%ofmostnormalPortlandcementclinkers.itisTricalciumaluminates(Ca3Al2O6),substantiallymodifiedincompositionandsometimesalsoinstructurebyincorporationofforeignions,especiallySi4+,Fe
