2、dHealthCenters(UMHHC).TheEquipmentManagementProgramwillensurethattheequipmentprovidesaccurate,reliableinformationtotheclinicians,thattheequipmentissafeforthepatientsandoperators,andthattheequipmentisutilizedtoitsfullestcapacityinordertooptimizepatientcare.ORGANIZATIONROLESANDRESPONSIBILITIESTheEqui
3、pmentManagementCommitteeoverseestheEquipmentManagementProgramaspartoftheUMHHCEnvironmentofCareProgram.Thecommitteeisresponsiblefordesigning,implementing,andmonitoringanEquipmentManagementProgramthatisbaseduponmanufacturerrecommendedpractice,organizationalexperience,aswellaspolicies,standards,regula
4、tionsandapplicablelawsthatgoverntheUMHHC.ThecommitteereportstotheEnvironmentofCareCommittee,however,thecommitteehastheauthoritytoexpandtheprogramasnecessarytoensurethehighestlevelofsafetyandparticipationbyallUMHHCstaff.ThecommitteeiscomprisedofrepresentativesfromBiomedicalEngineering,CapitalEquipme
5、nt,Maintenance,MedicalCenterRiskManagement,Pathology,PatientEquipment,Purchasing,RadiationOncology,andRadiologyEngineeringServices.TheEquipmentManagementCommitteemonitorssixbranchesoftheEquipmentManagementProgram.Eachbranchisresponsibleforthetechnicalandengineeringsupportofcertainmedicalequipmentat
6、theUMHHC.Technicalsupportofmedicalequipmentincludes,butisnotlimitedto,incominginspection,installation,monitoring,preventivemaintenance,troubleshooting,repairs,modificationforimprovement,reliability,andsafety.Engineeringsupportofmedicalequipmentincludes,butisnotlimitedto,modificationforimprovement,r
