4、ess.Toinvestigatethemechanismscontrollingfloweringtime.wescreenedforArabidopsismutantswithlate-floweringphenotypes.Onemutant,designatedde/ayedflowering(dfr)intheLandsbergerecta(Ledecotype.wasidentifiedwithdelayedfloweringtime.Geneticanalysisrevealedthatdfrisasinglegen
5、erecessivenuclearmutantandthemutationwasmappedtoaIocustightlyIinkedtoUF0onchromosome1.TOourknowledge,nogeneregulatingfloweringtimehasbeenreposedyetinthisregion.Thedfrmutantplantshowedadelayedfloweringtimeunderthedifferentgrowthconditionsexamined,includinglong-andshort
6、-dayphotoperiodsandgibberellicacidGA3treatments,suggestingthatDF开isagene,nvolved,ntheautonomousfloweringpromotionpathway.TheArabidopsisgeneFLOwERlNGLOcUsc(FLc)playsacentralroleinrepressingfloweringanditstranscriptsareundetectableinwild-typeLer.However,FLCexpressionwas
7、upregulatedinthedfrmutant,suggestingthatDFRisanegativeregulatorofFLc.Inaddition,thedfrmutantplantdisplayedalteredvalveshapesofthesiliqueandthenumberoftri.chomesandbranchesofeachtrichomewerebothreduced,indicatingthattheDRFgeneisalsorequiredfornormaIplantdevelopment.Mor
