3、alancesbecomethenormincountries’externaltradeinSino-UStradeimbalance(Tradeimbalanceisahigheconomicdependenceonthetwobigcountriesimportandexportwithinthehugelong-termsingletotheimbalance.opentradeconditions,thisimbalanceofsurplusanddeficitcountries15macroeconomic,industrialstructureandtradecond

4、itionsandpolicieshaveagreaterimpact.Sino-USrelations,particularlythereformandopeningup,bilateraltradevolumehasincreasedsteadily,from$2.45billionin1979,expandedto298.26billionU.S.dollarsin2009,averageannualgrowthrateofupto18%.Meanwhile,from1978-1996Thetwocountrieshavebeeninthetradeaccountdefici

5、tandaslightsurplusfluctuatedbetweenroughlyleveling.1997-2004,Sino-UStradesurplusanditsscaleofsustainedgrowthwithsteadyincreaseintradevolumein2005,China’stradewiththeU.S.Afterthesurplusisover$100billionin2008soaredto170.86billionU.S.dollars.,inspiteoftheglobalfinancialcrisisin2009,Sino-UStradev

6、olumefell10.6%,butthetotalisstillimpressive(seeTable1.TherapiddevelopmentofSino-UStradevolumeinthecontextofSino-UStradeimbalanceproblemhassurfaced,theSino-UStradesurpluscontinuestoexpand,showinga‘scissorsmouth’growth,since2000hassurpassedJapantobecomethelargestU.S.tradedeficit15countryontheoth
