5、omposites.1IntroductionThereareseveraldestructiveexternalenvironmentalfactorsthatlimittheservicelifeofbridges.Thesefactorsincludebutnotlimitedtochemicalattacks,corrosionofreinforcingsteelbars,carbonationofconcrete,andchemicalreactionofaggregate.Ifbridgeswerenotwe
6、llmaintained,thesefactorsmayleadtoastructuraldeficiency,whichreducesthemarginofsafety,andmayresultinstructuralfailure.Inordertorehabilitateand/orstrengthendeterioratedexistingbridges,thoroughevaluationshouldbeconducted.Thepurposeoftheevaluationistoassesstheactual
