3、icwavevelocityandinsitusynchrotronX-raymeasurements(Konoetal.,2010;Lietal.,2006)and(2)thefirst-principlescalculations(Wuetal.,2008),agreewellwitheachothertoatleast150GPaand2000K.Furthermore,theEOSfromfirst-principlescalculationsalsoagreeswellwithshockwavedata,anotherpressure-scale
4、-freedata.TheseagreementsstronglysupportthattheseEOSsprovidereliableabsolutepressurescales.HereweevaluateAuandPtEOSsbasedontheEOSofWuetal.(2008)usingthesimultaneouslymeasuredvolumedataofMgO,Au,andPtfromtheliterature.TheprimarypressurescalesdevelopedbyTangeetal.(2009)andYokooetal.(
5、2009)usingonlypressure-scale-freeexperimentaldataofMgO,Au,andPtproduceinternalconsistentpressureandagreewithEOSofWuetal.(2008).TheAuEOSbyTsuchiya(2003)workswellatroomtemperaturebutunderestimatespressureathightemperature.TheAuEOSbyFeietal.(2007)canwelldescribethermalpressure.TheEOS
6、sofPtbyHolmesetal.(1989)andOnoetal.(2011)workwellatbothroomtemperatureandhightemperature.Theresultsalsosuggestthatthediscrepancybetweenbulkmodulusofironfromexperiments(Maoetal.,1990)andthosefromEarth’score(DziewonskiandAnderson,1981)isnotoriginatedfromtheoverestimationofpressureby
