3、ichbroughtenvironmentalconcernstoanunprecedentedportionoftheAmericanpublic.SilentSpringspurredareversalinnationalpesticidepolicy—leadingtoanationwidebanonDDTandotherpesticides—andthegrassrootsenvironmentalmovementthebookinspiredledtothecreationoftheEnvironmentalProtectionA
4、gency.CarsonwasposthumouslyawardedthePresidentialMedalofFreedombyJimmyCarter.EarlylifeandeducationRachelCarsonwasbornonMay27,1907,onasmallfamilyfarmnearSpringdale,Pennsylvania,justuptheAlleghenyRiverfromPittsburgh.Anavidreader,shealsospentalotoftimeexploringaroundherfamily
