2、e ningunnumberedenvironments.Theamsthmpackagealsode nesaproofen-vironmentthatautomaticallyaddsaQEDsymbolattheend.AMSdocumentclassesincorporatetheamsthmpackage,soeverythingdescribedhereappliestothemaswell.Iftheamsthmpackageisusedwithanon-AMSdocumentclassandwiththeamsmathpackage,amsthmmustbelo

5、rtheautomaticnumbering,and(b)thevarietyofsuchelementsissowidethatit'snotpossibleforadocumentclasstoprovideeveryonethatwilleverbeneeded.Insteadthereisacommandewtheorem,similarine ecttoewenvironment,thatmakesiteasyforauthorstosetuptheelementsrequiredforaparticulardocument.Theewtheoremcom
