3、derationArticle1.TheCriminalLawoftheRussianFederation1.ThecriminalLawoftheRussianFederationconsistsofthepresentCode.NewlawsprovidingforcriminalresponsibilityaresubjecttoinclusioninthepresentCode.2.ThepresentCodeisbasedontheConstitutionoftheRussianFederat
4、ionandthegenerallyrecognizedprinciplesandnormsofinternationallaw.Article2.TheTasksoftheCriminalCodeoftheRussianFederation1.ThetasksofthepresentCodeareasfollows:theprotectionoftherightsandfreedomsofmanandcitizen,property,publicorderandpublicsecurity,theen
5、vironment,andtheconstitutionalsystemoftheRussianFederationagainstcriminalencroachment,themaintenanceofpeaceandsecurityofmankind,andalsothepreventionofcrimes.2.Toaccomplishthesetasks,thepresentCodeestablishesthegroundandprinciplesofcriminalresponsibility,
6、defineswhichdeedsarerecognizedasoffencesdangeroustopersons,society,ortheState,andestablishesthetypesofpunishmentandotherpenalmeasuresforthecommissionofoffences.Article3.ThePrincipleofLegality1.Thecriminalityofadeed,andalsoitspunishabilityandotherlegalcon
7、sequencesshallbedeterminedbythepresentCodealone.2.Theapplicationofacriminallawbyanalogyshallnotbeallowed.Article4.ThePrincipleofEqualityofIndividualsBeforetheLawPersonswhohavecommittedcrimesshallbeequalbeforetheLawandshallbebroughttocriminalresponsibilit
