2、esentsituationoflarge—sizeclass，tightteachingschedule，andheavyworkload．Nevertheless，peerfeedback，acomplementoftheteacherfeedback，isseldomusedinChineseEnglishclass．Inviewoftheabovesituationandtherapidincreaseincomputerizedclassroomsatuniversities，thisresearchaimsto

3、investigatetheeffectofpeerfeedbackandaproperpeerreviewmodeusedintheChineseEFLwritingclass．Seventy—twoEnglishmajorsophomoresinNanyangInstituteofTechnologytookpartintheexperiment．Questionnaires，ExcelandSPSS11．5ageusedinthisstudy．Bycomparingthethreeoften—usedpeerrevi

4、ewmodes，i．e．thetraditionalwrittenfeedback,computer—mediatedasynchronicanonymouspeerfeedback,andcomputer-mediatedasychronicreal-namepeerfeedback，theresearchrevealsthat：Firstly,theChinesecollegeEFLstudentsingeneralholdapositiveattitudetowardspeerfeedback．Theycouldno

5、tonlysincerelyandhonestlypointouttheirclassmates’mistakesoftheirwritings，butalsomodestlytaketheirclassmates’commentsintoconsiderationwhenrewriting．However,theyarepsychologicallyalittlehesitantabouttheirabilitytomakeusefulcomments，becauseupto69．4％participantsagenot

6、surewhethertheircommentsarchelpfultotheirpeersornot．Andalthough100％confessthattheylikereadingothers’articles，41．7％stateclearlythattheyd0notliketorevieworprovidecommentsforothers．Astothisphenomenon，theauthorbelievesthatithassomethingtodowiththeChinesetraditionalcul
