5、edtheoriginalworkisproperlycited.AbstractBackground:ThewildgrassspeciesBrachypodiumdistachyon(Brachypodiumhereafter)isemergingasanewmodelsystemforgrasscropgenomicsresearchandbiofuelgrassbiology.Adraftnucleargenomesequenceisexpectedtobepubliclyavailableinthenearfuture;anexplosionof
6、geneexpressionstudieswillundoubtedlyfollow.Therefore,stablereferencegenesarenecessarytonormalizethegeneexpressiondata.Results:AsystematicexplorationofsuitablereferencegenesinBrachypodiumispresentedhere.Ninereferencegenecandidateswerechosen,andtheirgenesequenceswereobtainedfromtheB
7、rachypodiumexpressedsequencetag(EST)databases.Theirexpressionlevelswereexaminedbyquantitativereal-timePCR(qRT-PCR)using21differentBrachypodiumplantsamples,includingthosefromdifferentplanttissuesandgrownundervariousgrowthconditions.Effectsofplantgrowthhormoneswerealsovisualizedinth
