5、.Thecontrast—celebratedininter-nationaltreaties,intergovernmentalandnongovernmentalorganizations,andmuchculturaldiscourse—waswithnarrowerworldemphasesontherightsofcitizensofnationalstates.Sincethe1970s,thismovementhasincreasinglyemphasizedtheimportanceofhumanrightseducationascentraltosus
6、taininghumanrightsprinciples.Thisarticleexaminestheriseofhumanrightsthemesinsecondaryschoolsocialsciencetextbooksaroundtheworldsince1970,codingdataon465textbooksfrom69countries.Theauthorsfindageneralincreaseinhumanrightsdiscussions,especiallysince1995.Humanrightsreceivelessemphasisinhist
