3、emostseriouspsycho-logicalimpairmentsisknownasschizophreniawhichseverelydistortsthoughtandaction(Hockenbury&Hockenbury,2004).Thepresentstudyissetouttoinvestigatethecapabilityofpatientswithschizophreniaindoingdifferentvocabularytasksonsecondlanguageandretainingthemforaperio
4、doftime.Eightmalepatientsdiagnosedwithschizophreniaofdifferenttypeswereselectedfromtwomentalcenterstoparticipateinthestudy.Theywereinvitedtoattendaclassfor16sessionsin8weeksanddovocabularytasksincludingmatchingwordstothepictures,fillingtheblanks,wordassociation,crosswordpu
5、zzle,andwordfinding.Atestwasadministeredrightaftertheperiodandtheretestwasadministered16dayslater.Thestudyillustratedthatthereisnosignifi-cantrelationshipbetweenageandlearningvocabularyitemsbypatientssufferingfromschizophrenia.More,schizophrenicsshoweddifferentcapabilities
6、indoingvocabularytasks,andtheyalsoshoweddifferentimpair-mentsintheirattempttolearnforeignlanguagewords.Theyalsofoundsomeofthetasksdemandingastheybecomemorecognitivelydifficult.Keywords:PsychologicalImpairment,Schizophrenia,VocabularyTaskIntroductionmultiplepersonalitysplit
