3、rved.Then,basedontheinsituconditionsofsirtemperature,atmosphericpressure,windforce,hydrogeologyandengineeringgeology,theair-temperaturerelationshipbetweenthetemperatureonthesurfaceofthetunnelwallandtheairtemperatureattheentryandexitofthetunnelhasbeenobtained,andthefreeze-thawcondi
4、tionsattheDabanshanTunnelwhichisnowunderconstructionispredicted.Keywords:tunnelincoldregions,convectiveheatexchangeandconduction,freeze-thaw.AnumberofhighwayandrailwaytunnelshavebeenconstructedinthepermafrostregionsandtheirneighboringareasinChina.Sincethehydrologicalandthermalcond
5、itionschangedafteratunnelwasexcavated,thesurroundingwallrockmaterialsoftenfroze,thefrostheavingcauseddamagetothelinerlayersandseepingwaterfrozeintoicediamonds,whichseriouslyinterferedwiththecommunicationandtransportation.Similarproblemsofthefreezingdamageinthetunnelsalsoappearedin
6、othercountrieslikeRussia,NorwayandJapan.Henceitisurgenttopredictthefreeze-thawconditionsinthesurroundingrockmaterialsandprovideabasisforthedesign,constructionandmaintenanceofnewtunnelsincoldregions.Manytunnels,constructedincoldregionsortheirneighboringareas,passthroughthepartbenea
7、ththepermafrostbase.Afteratunnelisexcavated,theoriginalthermodynamicallyconditionsinthesurroundingsareandthawdestroyedandreplacedmainlybytheairconnectionswithouttheheatradiation,theconditionsdeterminedprincipallybythetemperatureandvelocityofairflowinthetunnel,thecoefficientsofconv
