5、eenconstructedinthepermafrostregionsandtheirneighboringareasinChina.Sincethehydrologicalandthermalconditionschangedafteratunnelwasexcavated,thesurroundingwallrockmaterialsoftenfroze,thefrostheavingcauseddamagetothelinerlayersandseepingwaterfrozeintoicediamon
6、ds,whichseriouslyinterferedwiththecommunicationandtransportation.SimilarproblemsofthefreezingdamageinthetunnelsalsoappearedinothercountrieslikeRussia,NorwayandJapan.Henceitisurgenttopredictthefreeze-thawconditionsinthesurroundingrockmaterialsandprovideabasis
7、forthedesign,constructionandmaintenanceofnewtunnelsincoldregions.Manytunnels,constructedincoldregionsortheirneighboringareas,passthroughthepartbeneaththepermafrostbase.Afteratunnelisexcavated,theoriginalthermodynamicallyconditionsinthesurroundingsareandthawd
