3、hesecanbeovercomebyusingaHybridElectricVehicle(HEV).AnHEVcomprisesconventionalpropulsionsystemwithanon-boardRechargeableEnergyStorageSystem(RESS)toachievebetterfueleconomythanaconventionalvehicleaswellashigherrangeascomparedtoanElectricVehicle.HEVsprolo

4、ngthechargeonRESSbycapturingkineticenergyviaregenerativebraking,andsomeHEVsalsousetheenginetogenerateelectricitythroughanelectricalgenerator(M/G)torechargetheRESS.AnHEV'sengineissmallerandmayrunatvariousspeeds,providinghigherefficiency.Referencesuggests

5、thatHEVsallowfueleconomyandreducedemissionscomparedtoconventionalICEvehiclesby:1.Allowingtheenginetostopundervehiclestopcondition,2.Downsizingtheengineforsamepeakloadrequirements,asthemotorwillassisttheengineforsuchhigherloads,and3.Allowingregenerativeb
