3、wZealand,Peru,Singapore,theUnitedStates,andVietnam.Thenegotiatingpartnershaveexpressedaninterestinallowingthisproposed“livingagreement”tocovernewtradetopicsandtoincludenewmembersthatarewillingtoadopttheproposedagreement’shighstandards.Tothatend,Canada,Japan,andMexicorecen
4、tlystatedthattheywouldseekconsultationswiththepartnercountriesaboutthepossibilityofjoiningthenegotiations.TheTPPnegotiationsareofsignificantinteresttoCongress.CongressionalinvolvementincludesconsultationswithU.S.negotiatorsonandoversightofthedetailsofthenegotiations,andev
5、entualconsiderationoflegislationtoimplementthefinaltradeagreement.InassessingtheTPPnegotiations,MembersmaybeinterestedinunderstandingthepotentialeconomicimpactandsignificanceofTPPandtheeconomiccharacteristicsoftheotherTPPcountriesastheyevaluatethepotentialimpactofthepropo
6、sedTPPontheU.S.economyandthecommercialopportunitiesforexpansionintoTPPmarkets.ThisreportprovidesacomparativeeconomicanalysisoftheTPPcountriesandtheireconomicrelationswiththeUnitedStates.ItsuggeststhattheTPPnegotiatingpartnersencompassgreatdiversityinpopulation,economicdev
