2、esproducedusingthistest,andthefirstevidenceforacorrelationbetweenERAmeasuredbyastandardizedtestandpersonality.UtilizingMatsumotoandEkman’s(1988)JapaneseandCaucasianFacialExpressionsofEmotion(JACFEE)andNeutralFaces(JACNeuF),wecallthismeasuretheJapaneseandCaucasianBriefAffectRecognitionTest(JACBART
3、).TheJACBARTimprovesonpreviousmeasuresofERAby(1)usingexpressionsthathavesubstantialvalidityandreliabilitydataassociatedwiththem,(2)includingposersoftwovisiblydifferentraces(3)balancedacrosssevenuniversalemotions(4)withequaldistributionofposerraceandsexacrossemotions(5)inaformatthateliminatesafter
4、imagesassociatedwithfastexposures.ScoresderivedusingtheJACBARTarereliable,andthreestudiesdemonstratedacorrelationbetweenERAandthepersonalityconstructsofOpennessandConscientiousness,whileonestudyreportsacorrelationwithExtraversionandNeuroticism.Researchonjudgmentsofemotionfromfacialexpressionshasa
5、longandimportanthistoryinpsychology,andhascontributedgreatlytotheliteratureconcerningtheuniversalityofemotion,andtoknowledgeconcerningdifferencesbetweengender,ethnicity,culture,andpsychiatricstatus.Studiesexaminingtherelationshipbetweenindividualdifferencesinjudgmentsofemotion(hereonreferredtoasE
