5、+-poorculturemedium.Incontrast,treatmentwithhighconcentrationsoftheethylenesynthesisinhibitorAOAdecreasedprimaryrootlength(PRL),lateralrootlength(LRL),andlateralrootnumber(LRN)underlowKconditions,andthiswassimilarfortheethyleneactioninhibitorAg+.TreatmentwithCo2+underlow
6、Kcon-ditionssignificantlyincreasedLRLand,athighconcentrations,PRL,butcausedreducedLRNathighconcentrations.Ourre-sultsindicatedincreasedethylenelevelsinducedbyKdeficiencymightaccountforinhibitionofrootelongation,butnotforthesuppressionofrootbranching.LeafapplicationofCo2+
7、enhancedleafarea,rootgrowth(PRLandLRL),andbranching(LRN)ofcottonseedlingsgrownunderlowKcondition,thoughtheeffectsofdifferentCo2+concentrationswerenotsignificant.Thesefindingssuggestthatimprovingleafgrowthmightpositivelyregulaterootmorphology.ACC;Co2+;rootelongation;later
