2、ourcitizens’qualityoflife.Fortoolong,lawmakershaveinvestedininfrastructureinefficiently,ignoredcriticalneeds,andallowedittodeteriorate.Asaresult,theUnitedStateshasfallenfurtherandfurtherbehindothercountries.ItistimetogiveAmericanstheworking,moderninfrastructuretheydeserve.Tohelpbuildabetterf
3、utureforallAmericans,IasktheCongresstoactsoononaninfrastructurebillthatwill:stimulateatleast$1.5trillioninnewinvestmentoverthenext10years,shortentheprocessforapprovingprojectsto2yearsorless,addressunmetruralinfrastructureneeds,empowerStateandlocalauthorities,andtraintheAmericanworkforceofthe
4、future.TodeveloptheinfrastructureframeworkIamtransmittingtoday,myAdministrationengagedwithGovernors,mayors,Federalagencies,Stateandlocalagencies,MembersofCongress,industry,andmostimportantly,theAmericanpeoplewhodependonupgradedinfrastructure.TheproductoftheseeffortsisaroadmapfortheCongressto
5、draftandpassthemostcomprehensiveinfrastructurebillinourNation’shistory.MyAdministration’splanaddressesmorethantraditionalinfrastructure--likeroads,bridges,andairports--butaddressesotherneedslikedrinkingandwastewatersystems,waterways,waterresources,energy,ruralinfrastructure,publiclands,veter
6、ans’hospitals,andBrownfieldandSuperfundsites.Thereformssetforthinmyplanwillstrengthentheeconomy,makeourcountrymorecompetitive,reducethecostsofgoodsandservicesforAmericanfamilies,andenableAmericanstobuildtheirlivesontopofthebestinfrastructureintheworld.MyAdministrationiscommittedtoworkingwith
