5、topursuethewealth,statusandlove.Carrie,likethousandsofotherAmericanyoungpeople,comestothecitytoseekherdreamfromasmallvillage.Ofcourse,tosomedegree,theAmericanDreamindeedisasortofmotivetourgepeopletomakesomeprogress.However,theAmericanDreamhasbecameakindofdreamthatonlyasmallpart
6、ofpeoplecancometrueinthelateof19thcenturyandtheearly20thcenturybecauseoftherestrictionofvariousreasons.Onthesurface,thedreamlookssobeautifulthateveryonewantstochaseit.Butinfact,itjustlikesamiragethatwilldisillusionintheend.SisterCarrie,apurevillagegirlbecametwomen’slover,andthe
