5、ntury.That’salsothemainreasonforSisterCarrietopursuethewealth,statusandlove.Carrie,likethousandsofotherAmericanyoungpeople,comestothecitytoseekherdreamfromasmallvillage.Ofcourse,tosomedegree,theAmericanDreamindeedisasortofmotivetourgepeopletomakesomeprogress.However,
6、theAmericanDreamhasbecameakindofdreamthatonlyasmallpartofpeoplecancometrueinthelateof19thcenturyandtheearly20thcenturybecauseoftherestrictionofvariousreasons.Onthesurface,thedreamlookssobeautifulthateveryonewantstochaseit.Butinfact,itjustlikesamiragethatwilldisillusi
