3、eing(Wu-chi)comesfromLaoTzu.2ButhisdiagramisnotexactlylikeanydiagramoftheTaoists,andinhisevolutionaryprocessofcreationfromtheGreatUltimatethroughthepassivecosmicforce,yin,andtheactivecosmicforce,yang,tothemyriadthings,hefaithfullyfollowedtheBookofChanges3ratherthanTaoism.Actuallywhathedidw
4、astoassimilatetheTaoistelementofnon-beingtoConfucianthought,butinsodoing,hediscardedthefantasyandmysticismofTaoism.ThediagramhadbeenusedbyTaoistsintheirattempttoobtainelixirforimmortallife,butChouTun-iuseditforrationalphilosophy.InthiswayherestoredChinesephilosophytoahealthierclimate.Thefa
