4、effectofalkylchainlengthontheiroptoelectronicproperties,suchasphotochromisminsolutionaswellasinthecrystallinephaseandelectrochemicalperformancewasinvestigatedindetail.Thesediaryletheneshaveshowedgoodphotochromicbehaviorbothinsolutionandinthesinglecrystallinephas
5、e.In-troductionofthelongalkylchainsat2-positionofbis(5-formyl-3-thienyl)perfluorocyclopenteneincreasedtheabsorptioncoefficientsofbothopen-andclosed-ringisomersandinducedbathochromicshiftsofthemaximalwavelengthabsorptionoftheclosed-ringisomers.Thelongalkylchainscan
