4、%ofthebrightestX-raysourcesareshown).ThebluecirclesmarkthethreesubgroupsUpperScorpius,UpperCentaurus-Lupus,andLowerCentaurus-Crux(fromlefttoright).Toinvestigatethefrequencyoflong-periodgiantplanetsbotharoundsinglestarsandinmulti-starsystems,wearesamplingapopulationof~100youngsingleandmultiple
5、A-typestarsinthenearbyUpperScorpius-Centaurus-Lupusassociation.TheScorpius-CentaurusAssociationiscenteredabout470light-yearsawayintheGouldBelt(thenearestOBassociationtotheSun)andcontainsseveralhundredstars,mostlyoftypeB.About12millionyearsagothemostmassivestarinUpperCentaurus-Lupuswentsuperno
6、va,creatingalargeshockwave.ThisshockwavepassedthroughtheUpperScorpiuscloudabout5millionyearsago,andtriggeredthestarformationprocessthere.Shortlyafter,thestrongwindsofthenumerousmassivestarsinUpperScorpiusstartedtodispersethemolecularcloudandhaltedthestarformationprocess.About1.5millionyearsag
