2、ciety.However,stresshasbothnegativeandpositiveinfluences.Thisessaywilltrytodemonstratethedisadvantagesandadvantagesofstress.Therearetwomaindisadvantagesofstress.Oneofthemaindisadvantagesisitcouldleadtohealthproblems.Thatis,stresscouldbringaboutbothphysicalandp
3、sychologicaldiseases,accordingtoEdworthy(2000),“highbloodpressure,heartdisease,asthmaandulcers,andunlessthepressureisremoveditwillultimatelyleadtodeath”.Forexample,especiallywhenpeoplehavedifficultjob,theystayinaharmfulandpoorenvironment.Thesepeoplemaylackslee
4、p,oftenhaveirregularlife-styles,andasaresult,theycouldgetdiseaseseasily.People’sphysicalhealthdeteriorationandtheirpsychologicalproblemsmaybecomeunstableconditionswhichaffectfamiliesandsociety.Anotherdisadvantageisthatpeoplewhoareunderstresstendtohaveunstablep
5、ersonalbehaviors.Inotherwords,whenpeoplehavepressures,theymaychoosecertainactivitiestorelievestress.However,thereareunstablepersonalbehaviorscouldbechosen,suchasovereating,drinking,smokingandgambling(Zellneretal.,2006;Bergevinetal.,2006).Theseactivitiesareharm
6、fulandtheycouldbringcrisesinfamilieswhichareunderpressures.Inaddition,criminalactivitiestendtobechosenwhenpeoplehaveexcessivestress.Forexample,itispossiblesomepeoplemaychoosecriminalassaulttofemaleaftertheysufferposttraumaticstressdisorder(Dancu,Riggs,Hearst-I
7、keda,Shoyer,&Foa,1996).Therefore,stressisbadforlifeandsociety.Stresshasdisadvantages,howeveritcouldhasadvantages.Thefirstadvantageisthatstresscouldallowpeopleworkhardandefficiently.Peopletendtoconcentrateonsomethingwhentheyareunderstress.Forinstance,studentspr
