3、ringtheprocessofteaching, theteacherhastobesilentasmuch astheycould,butthelearnerhasto beencouragedtoproduceasmuch languageaspossible.TheapproachiscalledtheSilentWaybecausetheteacherremainsmainlysilent,togivestudentsthespacetheyneedtolearntotalk.Inthisapproach,itisassume

4、dthatthestudents'previousexperienceoflearningfromtheirmothertonguewillcontributetolearningthenewforeignlanguage.Theacquisitionofthemothertonguebringsawarenessofwhatlanguageisandthisisretainedinsecondlanguagelearning.Theawarenessofwhatlanguageisincludestheuseofnon-verbalcompo
