4、cation,GMPowertrain,andallnon-GMSuppliersPPQPcertificationdoesnotapplytoPPAPapprovedparts.PPQPsupersedesallpreviousprocessesgoverninginspection,certificationanddeliveryofPre-Productionparts.PPQPreplacesGP-11(GeneralProcedure#1820)forPre-Production/Prototypepartssupplied

5、tothePPOBuildShops.PPQPdoesnotreplaceGP11forpartssuppliedtoGMPowertrainFacilitiesgloballynorPre-ProductionpartssuppliedtoGMAssemblyPlants.OverviewPPQPdescribestherequirementsforinspection,certificationanddeliveryofpartsforuseinPre-Productionbuilds.ThePPQPclassifiesparts

6、thatarebeingusedinPre-Productionbuildsintothreecategories:Prototype/Pre-productionCriticalpartsPrototype/Pre-productionNon-CriticalpartsPPAPApprovedpartsThecategoryofthepartandconformancetoGMspecificationsdetermineapprovalrequirements.CriticalPartsTheprocessbeginswithth

7、eDimensionalProgramManager(DPM)leadingdevelopmentoftheProgram-SpecificCriticalPartsList.TheDPMbeginswithagenericlistandadaptsthelistforthespecificprogramtakingintoconsideration:newuniquedesignsortechnologies,pasthistory,andotherappropriatecriteria.Partsnotonthislistwill
