3、ntheinterfacetractionandtheinterfacedisplacementjump.Twosetsofinterfaceparametersareadoptedtorepresenttheinterfacestrengthandtoughnessrespectively.Thismodelcansimulatetheevolutionofinterfacedamages,whicharecoupledinthenormalandtangentialdirections.Theinterfaceelementhasnothicknessinitially.Thisinter
4、facedamagemodelisperformedtocompositeswhichhaveperiodicarrayoffibersandaresubjectedtoatransverseload.Forsymmetry,thecomputationalrepresentativeelement(RVE)containsaquarteroffiber.Thefiberisassumedaselasticmaterialanditsstiffnessismuchhigherthanthatofthematrixmaterial.Thematrixisassumedasisotropichar
5、deningelastic-plasticmaterial.Finitedeformationisconsidered.Theinterfacedamageevolutionanditseffectonthepropertiesofcompositesundertheconditionsofvariousinterfacestrengthsandtoughnessisinvestigated.Theresultsshowthatthedebondingstartsatthepolarregionofthefiberandmovestotheequatorregionwiththeloading
6、increasing.TheaveragetensilestressontheRVEdropswhenthedebondingtakesplace.Largeinterfacestrengthbringsonthedelayedinterfacedebondingandthehighultimatetensilestrength.Withthesameinterfacestrength,thehighinterfacetoughnessmeansthelowinterfacestiffnessandhighenergytoseparatetheinterface.Sothedebondingi
