3、etheknowledgeoftheenvironmentalfateofsulfamethoxazole(SMX),wesystematicallyinvestigatedtheeffectsofnaturalwaterconstituentsandsyntheticsubstances(i.e.,TiO2nanoparticles(nTiO2)andTi-doped-Bi2O3(NTB))onthephotodegradationkineticsofSMXunderxenonlampirradiation.Thep
4、hotolysisofSMXinaqueoussolutionfollowedfirst-orderkinetics.OurresultsshowedthathigherconcentrationsofSMX,fulvicacid,suspendedsediments,NTBandhigherpHvaluedecreasedthephotodegradationratesofSMX,whereasH2O2improvedtheSMXphotodegradation.TiO2nanoparticleshadadualeff
5、ectonphotodegradationduetotheirphotocatalyticactivityandphotoabsorptionofphotons.NointermediatesmoretoxictowardVibriofischerithanSMXwereproducedafterdirectphotolysisandphotocatalyticdegradationfor3hr.ThephotolysisofSMXinvolvedthreepathways:hydroxylation,cleavage
