5、ectsoilmicrobialcommunitycompositionanddiversity,leadingtodeteriorationofsoilqualityandfertility.However,itisyettobedeterminedhowthesechangesinmicrobialdiversitycaninfluencesurfaceandgroundecosystems.Tothatend,thereisanacuteneedforreliableandaccuratemethodstostudythecomm
6、unitystructureandtaxonomyofsoilmicroorganisms.Withoutthedevelopmentofeffectivemethodsforstudyingthemicrobialdiversity,distribution,andbehaviorinpollutedsoil,athoroughunderstandingofmicrobialdiversity,aswellasitsimpactonsoilhealth,cannotbeachieved.Thedeterminationofspecie
7、sdiversitydependsonseveralfactorsincludingtheintensityofeachspecies,thetotalnumberofspeciespresent,speciesevenness,andthespatialdistributionofspecies.Methodstomeasuremicrobialcommunitystructureandfunctionaldiversityinpollutedsoilscanbeclassifiedintotwogroups,i.e.,biochem
