6、titivenessofEuropeanagricultureandindustry.Itisessentialinordertodriveinnovation,tostimulatecommercialexploitation,andtokeepEurope'seconomyandcitizenshealthy.However,genomicsprojectscanbelabourintensiveandcostly.ERA-PGaimstotackletheseissues,aswellasthefragmentationthatsurroundssuchr

7、esearch,byjoiningforcestobuildastrongknowledgebaseinEuropethatwillstrengthenthecompetitivenessinplantgenomics.ERA-PGbeganitsworkin2004.Itstartedwithtwelvememberorganizationsfromelevendifferentcountries,andsincethenhasgrownfromstrengthtostrength.Today,theERA-PGnetworkcomprisesanimpres
