3、eporttotheEuropeanParliamentand2totheCouncil.ThisCommunicationconstitutestheCommission'sreportfurthertotheEUICZMRecommendation.Themainsourcesusedforthisreportare:3•Anexternalevaluationreport,assessingprincipallythecoastalMemberStates'implementationoftheEUICZMRecommendation;4•Areportb
4、ytheEuropeanEnvironmentAgencywithanintegratedspatialassessmentofEurope'scoastalzones;•AreportfromtheWorkingGrouponIndicatorsandDataexaminingtheuseof5indicatorsinthenationalreportsfurthertotheEUICZMRecommendation.InOctober2005,theCommissionadopteditsThematicStrategyontheProtectionandt
5、heConservationoftheMarineEnvironment,includingaproposedMarine6StrategyDirective.Byproposingalegislativeframeworktoachieveagoodenvironmentalstatusofthemarineenvironment,theThematicStrategyenhancestheexistingbodyofEUpoliciesandlegislationavailablefortheterrestrialpartofthecoastalzone,s
