1、INDUSTRIALENGINEERINGANDTECHNOLOGYMANAGEMENTSYLLABUSThesyllabusappliestostudentsadmittedintheacademicyear2015-16andthereafterunderthefour-yearcurriculum.DefinitionandTerminologyEachcourseofferedbytheDepartmentofIndustrialandManufacturingSystemsEngineeringshallbeclassifiedas

2、eitherintroductorylevelcourseoradvancedlevelcourse.ADisciplineCorecourseisacompulsorycoursewhichacandidatemustpassinthemannerprovidedforintheRegulations.ADisciplinaryElectivecoursereferstoanytechnicalcourseofferedbytheDepartmentofIndustrialandManufacturingSystemsEngineering

3、forthefulfillmentofthecurriculumrequirementsofthedegreeofBEnginIndustrialEngineeringandTechnologyManagementthatarenotclassifiedasdisciplinecorecourse.CurriculumTheCurriculumcomprises240creditsofcoursesasfollows:GeneralEngineeringCoursesStudentsarerequiredtocompleteatleast36

4、creditsofGeneralEngineeringCourse.DisciplineCoreCoursesStudentsarerequiredtocompleteALLdisciplinecorecourses(84credits),comprising30creditsofintroductorycorecoursesand54creditsofadvancedcorecourses.DisciplineElectiveCoursesStudentsarerequiredtocompleteatleast36creditsofdisc

5、iplineelectivecoursesofferedbytheDepartmentofIndustrialandManufacturingSystemsEngineering.ElectiveCoursesStudentsarerequiredtocomplete12creditsofelectivecoursesofferedbyeithertheDepartmentofIndustrialandManufacturingSystemsEngineering,orotherdepartmentswithinoroutsideoftheF

6、acultyofEngineering.UniversityRequirementsStudentsarerequiredtocomplete:a)12creditsinEnglishlanguageenhancement,including6creditsin“CAES1000CoreUniversityEnglish”and6creditsin“CAES9520TechnicalEnglishforIndustrialandManufacturingSystemsEngineering”;b)6creditsinChineselangua

7、geenhancementcourse“CENG9001PracticalChineseforEngineeringStudents”;andc)36creditsofcoursesintheCommonCoreCurriculum,selectingnotmorethanonecoursefromeachAreaofInquirywithinoneacademicyearandatleastonebutnomorethantwocoursesfromeachAreaofInquiryduringthewholeperiodofstudy.C

8、apstoneExperienceStudentsarerequiredtocompletethe12-credit“IMSE4174Project”tofulfi
