1、中文摘要东晋一朝作为典型的门阀政治时期，在政治居于高位、把持朝政的多为高门士族，皇权受到压制。作为皇权衍生力量的司马氏宗室群体，自然也被士族打压。士族对权力的掌控比较严密，不允许司马氏宗室人物具有左右政局的能力，这就决定了东晋宗室力量难以壮大的格局。因此，有关东晋政治史的研究，宗室群体是一支容易被忽略的力量。但是，作为王朝正朔所在的东晋政权，司马氏阜权的合法性无可置疑，这也为士族所接受。由此，皇权也不能容忍长期处于为士族所压制的处境，而振兴皇权，宗室力量是一支不能或缺的势力。纵观东晋一朝，无论皂位的传承，中央、州镇势力的布局，宗室和士族的争斗贯穿

2、始终。但是宗室的力量过于弱小，其与士族的争斗，总是试图联合其它政治势力组成联盟。但是，门阀政治的特殊背景，决定了皇权屈从于士族。这样，宗室和士族的斗争多以宗室失败的命运告终。代表皇权的宗室势力在与高门士族的争斗中难以取胜的关键因素就是其缺乏强大的武装力量，这和汉魏以来兵制的发展有不可分割的关系。另一方面，自东晋初年建立强大皇权的诉求失败始，东晋朝廷和地方的关系便陷入被动，地方州镇的独立性只益增大，对中枢的威胁一直存在，而宗室难以控制地方，无法获得有效的支持力量，这是其失败的主要原因。关键词：东晋宗室门阀士族皇权AbstractTheEastern
