1、摘要广西靖西县湖润镇新兴街居民所操的粤语是由壮语包围形成的方言岛，系政治移民(逃避战乱)和经济移民(商贩活动)形成的孤岛型粤语方言岛。本文依据田野调查获得的语料描写新兴粤语的语音，揭示其语音特点进而展现方言岛的概貌；通过新兴粤语内部、。新兴粤语与靖西壮语农话比较，探析新兴粤语在语言接触中发生的变化；与广州粤语对比，分析二者的语音差别，解释汉语方言语音变化的某些特点。此外，运用问卷调查和深度访谈等方法，描写方言岛居民的语言使用状况及语言态度，探析方言岛保留至今的原因，并预测新兴粤语的发展趋势。调查结果表明，新兴粤语是被壮语包围的粤语方言岛，
