2、)SUMMARYSpontaneouscell-mediatedcytotoxicity(SCMC)byporcinebloodleukocytestowardhumanmyeloidtumourtargetcells(Ks~)wasshownbyKorenandcoworkersin1978,usinga4-h51Cr-releaseassay.Inthepresentpaper,SCMCwasfoundtobeenhancedfollowinga24-hincubationofleukocyteswithswineinfluenzavirus(SI
3、V)oftheH3N~type,andwiththetransmissiblegastroenteritisvirus(TGEV),aporcinecoronavirus.Inmostofourexperiments,bothSIVandTGEVinducedinterferon(IFN)productionbyleukocytes(titresrangingfrom30-7,500units/ml).WhenporcineleukocyteswereincubatedwithTGEVinthepresenceofanti-IFNantiserum,n
4、oSCMCstimulationoccurred,suggestingthatthevirus-inducedSCMCstimulationwasmainlyduetoendogenouslyproducedIFN.Ontheotherhand,wheneitherhuman~IFNorporcinevirus-inducedIFNwereaddedtoporcineleukoeytes,arapidandmarkedSCMCincreasewasobserved.BoththeSIV-inducedSCMCincreaseandIFNproducti
