2、complexresponseofasampleinaconfigurationanalogoustoadispersiveFouriertransformspectrometer,infraredtimedomainspectrometer,oramultiheterodynelaserspectrometer.Thisdual-combspectrometerretainsthefrequencyaccuracyandresolutionofthereferenceunderlyingthestabilizedcombs.Wediscussthespecificdesignofour
3、coherentdual-combspectrometeranddemonstratethepotentialofthistechniquebymeasuringtheovertonevibrationofhydrogencyanide,centeredat194THz(1545nm).Wemeasurethefullynormalized,complexresponseofthegasovera9THzbandwidthat220MHzfrequencyresolutionyielding41,000resolutionelements.Theaveragespectralsign
4、al-to-noiseratio(SNR)overthe9THzbandwidthis2500forboththemagnitudeandphaseofthemeasuredspectralresponseandthepeakSNRis4000.ThispeakSNRcorrespondstoafractionalabsorptionsensitivityof0.05%andaphasesensitivityof250microradians.Asthespectralcoverageofcombsexpands,coherentdual-combspectroscopycouldp
