1、CONTINUOUSIMPROVEMENTGP-8PURPOSE:GP-8definesthesupplier'sresponsibilitytohaveanon-goingprocessforcontinuouslyimprovingtheproductbyimprovingmanufacturingprocessestoreducevariationandtoinsuretheprocesshascapabilityandstabilityovertime.Itoutlinesthecustomerexpectati

2、onsforthesuppliersafteraparthassatisfactorilycompletedProductionPartApprovalProcess(PPAP)andEarlyProductionContainment(GP-12).(Seepage8.)1.0SCOPE-TheGP-8proceduralcriteriaappliestoallGeneralMotorssuppliers,includingGeneralMotorsalliedandaffiliatedmanufacturingope

3、rations,andisapplicableforallpartsandmaterialsevenwhenthecustomerhasnotrequesteddatatobeprovided.2.0BASICQUALITYREQUIREMENTS-Allsuppliersarerequiredtohaveinplacequalitysystemsthatinsurepartsshippedtothecustomermeetspecification.Furthertheyareexpectedtohaveanactio

4、nplanandthenecessarycontrolstomaintainandimprovetheprocesscapabilityofdesignatedkeyproductcharacteristics(KPC's).2.1BASICQUALITYMEASURES-InevaluatingtheireffectivenessinmeetingthebasicrequirementsofGP-8,thesuppliershouldmonitorthefollowingmeasures:A.Voiceofthecus

5、tomer.Thesemeasuresreflectqualityperformanceasseenbythecustomer.·Defectivepartsshippedtothecustomer.Thismeasurerepresentsthenumberofnon-conformingpartsfoundatthecustomer'slocation,andisexpressedinpartspermillion(PPM).·CompliancewithGP-5.ProblemReportingandResolut

6、ion(PR/Rs)areissuedbythecustomersforproblemsinconnectionwithasupplier'squality,packaginganddeliveryperformance.Specificallymeasuredaretimelyresponseandtheeliminationofrepeatednonconformance.B.Voiceoftheprocess.Thesemeasurementsreflectqualityperformanceasseenbythe

7、supplieratthesuppliers'facility.LongtermprocessperformanceonKPC's.Variationonkeyproductcharacteristicsreflectsthevariationintheprocessandisaresultofasupplier'sabilitytocontroltheinputvariablesofaprocess.LongtermprocessperformanceismeasuredasaPpkvalue.*(Note:SeeCh
